Pell Grants are awarded to students who meet certain eligibility requirements such as: financial need, having earned a high school diploma or GED, and being a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, etc. Obtaining a college degree shouldn’t break the bank, and that’s just what Pell Grants are here for – to help students overcome financial barriers. Keep in mind, grants are different than loans, in that they don’t have to be paid back.
The amount of financial aid a student will receive through the Pell Grant is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to: household income, the duration of the school year the student plans on being enrolled, and whether they plan on going to school part or full-time, etc.
